The Afternoon Squeeze: Daylife takes on news visually

Friday, February 9th, 2007

We’re really diggin’ Daylife’s new look and the site is quickly becoming one of our favorites.

If you haven’t visited the site before, it’s worth a drop on by. There are different ways to enjoy what Daylife is all about – rounding up some top stories from the week and presenting them in way that [...]

The Diaper-Wearing Anna Nicole Lake Effect Media Barrage

Friday, February 9th, 2007

Certain news strikes a chord with the general populous and this week has been a breeding ground spawning loads of juicy stuff we can all eat up.

Earlier in the week we were baffled by a NASA astronaut who, besides going crazy stalker killer on a colleague, wore an adult diaper to make the most of [...]

The Super Ads are over. How did they fare?

Monday, February 5th, 2007

For some, it’s all about the game. For most, it’s all about the ads.
Today, we get a glimpse of how the big game’s ads fared. USA Today had a rank that put Budweiser (and Bud Light) spots in 7 out of the top 10.
This year was the first that big [...]

Monday, January 29th, 2007

Illustration by The New York Times
Nielsen, the big name in audience ratings and other media metrics, will soon be adjusting its numbers for TV viewership to account for students while they’re at school.

Not-so-revolutionary PR

Monday, January 22nd, 2007

We’ve been keeping an eye on Steve Case’s new playground, RevolutionHealth.com.
We’re not as interested in what they’re all about, but rather how they’re going about starting up and letting the world know about their existence.

Flux capacitors gone bad; DIRECTV’s latest ad

Friday, January 19th, 2007

We have a problem with the latest DIRECTV ad that features Christopher Lloyd in updated Back to the Future scenes.
The main point of the ad, which was produced by Deutsch Inc., is that DIRECTV supposedly has a greater long-term capacity for HD channels versus standard cable.
The question is: Do new HDTV set owners really care? [...]

Trade show launch extravaganza!

Wednesday, January 10th, 2007

Lots of product launches were made this week from some big trade shows.

The biggest launch you’ve likely heard of by now is that from Macworld with Jobs’ debut of the iPhone. It’s Apple’s concerted entrant into the cell phone market that combines an iPod, phone, and Internet browsing features into a deliciously designed device. [...]

New Year’s Resolutions from the Pulp

Tuesday, January 2nd, 2007

It’s only been a little over a day and we’ve seen more Kristie Alley than a Look Who’s Talking marathon screening.
If you’re like us, you’re probably sick of fitness and weight loss ads already. Our New Year’s Resolution isn’t weight loss, however. We drink enough fresh squeezed OJ around the Pulp offices to [...]

Source: AP via CNN.com
We’ve heard of man bites dog, but when it’s world’s tallest man (according to the Guinness Book) who’s a sheep-herder from Mongolia sticks arm down dolphin’s throat to remove plastic from dolphin’s stomach….now that’s news.
From CNN.com:
Attempts to use surgical instruments to remove the plastic failed because the dolphins’ stomachs contracted in response [...]

Just a follow-up to Friday’s post.

Too bad Wal-Mart just flipped this one upside down.
