From the Web 2.0 chieftain and the father of Wiki comes some proposed blogging guidelines.

1. Take responsibility not just for your own words, but for the comments you allow on your blog.
2. Label your tolerance level for abusive comments.
3. Consider eliminating anonymous comments.
4. Ignore the trolls.
5. Take the conversation offline, and talk directly, or find an intermediary who can do so.
6. If you know someone who is behaving badly, tell them so.
7. Don’t say anything online that you wouldn’t say in person.

This comes in the wake of Kathy Sierra’s disclosure of what’s been going on over at her blog recently.

We will be adhering to these standards here at PRpulp and encourage you and your organizations to do the same.

Here at PRpulp, we’re a recent entrant into the blogosphere and instead of littering with little icons, we’d appreciate you telling all your friends about what we’re up to.

Our commitment remains to serve up commentary on interesting happenings out there as they relate to PR and its periphery. We won’t be caught dead posting “PR 101s.” They’re stupid. Instead, we’ll try and weave it in with current events. We also try not to be too cynical or political, but still have a bit of an edge to keep you interested.

We’ve added some new functionality to the blog, such a voting and have restrained ourselves to only include the digg icon over on the right. Please, vote away, digg until you can’t dig no mo’, and tell your friends all about the Pulp. We’re here to stay and want to grow this little project into something bigger – into something that can truly help you in your everyday life.

Is there something you want that we don’t offer? Such as Google widget API or more articles on a certain subject? Let us know at prpulp@gmail.com.

What’s the juicy stuff? Well, it could be that precise bit of information you need in order to complete a task. It could be the tools necessary to do your job more effectively. Or it could be an interesting bit of information that holds up just as well at a water cooler as it does at the local watering hole.

Who are we? We’re a couple of PR practitioners and marketers who profess to have some insights to share. Having worked for some global brands, we couldn’t sit on our fingertips watching the hyperactive world of blogging take off without us joining in. Call us followers, call us leaders – call us whatever, just use AP style and avoid jargon. We can take it.

You’re sure to find something of interest in our posts, so add PRpulp to your favorite news aggregator and check back in when you get thirsty for more.

Do you have some juicy stuff of your own to share? We’d love to hear what’s on your mind. Send us an e-mail at prpulp@gmail.com.

Enjoy!
