New online metrics from Quantcast

Steve Rubel pointed out today a site called Quantcast. Similar to Alexa, it goes further for editorial outlets to provide some juicy demographic and common site information for interactive marketers and PR pros.

Some highlights for the media crowd include its Siteographicslist on the right. It works to assign relative affinity of media interests for visitors to a particular site. For example, under the visitors to cnn.com are likely to enjoy reading Vanity Fair, Time, and the New Yorker online when it comes to periodicals. For business info, FT is at the top along with Barrons, and Bloomberg.
The service and data are free to use. We’ll warn to that this is fairly new and the data – especially for lower traffic sites – may not be too solid yet.
Regardless, it’s worth checking out.
