Great points, John. I also think it's a low blow from Limbaugh since he has plenty of problems of his own.

Not to make too light of the situation, but this was a fun little "article" I read this morning: http://www.thespeciousreport.com/2006/06061025limbaugh.html

I believe an individual with a disease that could be helped by research that the government is blocking funding for is exactly the type of person's story I want to hear and understand, in addition to hearing the various researchers' points of view.

The only people against this research aren't the researchers, aren't the people suffering from diseases, but instead are people who hold strong idealogical or religious points of view that are preventing research that (a) was previously funded by the government and (b) would use cells that would otherwise be destroyed anyway.

Limbaugh didn't just comment on Michael J. Fox, he actually parodied and made fun of his movements! That's not just insulting to anyone with Parkinson's disease, that's pretty insulting to any individual who lives with, daily, a chronic condition in pain. Stem cell research gives Parkinson's diease patients one more avenue of hope. It seems Limbaugh is just desperately seeking attention and trying to stay relevant in this day.
