Poor Aleksey
It’s been a rough few days for Aleksey Vayner. All he wanted was a job on Wall Street. Instead, what he got was the cyberspace equivalent of a wedgie.
While we’re big fans of creative approaches to standing out within a pool of applicants, you probably want to make sure that the clips within your video résumé are actually you and that the statements you make are true.
The New York Times writes:
Despite the mockery that the video has inspired, he still speaks proudly of his athleticism. Nearly all the feats in the video are his, he said, and they are real. But he says he is not certain that the skiing segment actually shows him.

When all is said and done, besides the NYT story, the kid has been on Today, FOX News, MarketWatch, in the New York Post, Metro, The Sun, Daily Mail, US News & World Report, New Yorker, and more than 89 other outlets. No wonder he needs some time off from Yale to deal.
